Tribute to Cousin Tony
Our Dear Tony
We Miss You
A few short days ago, our Dear Tony flew away, like an eagle soaring into the sky. Away from all the pain, heartache, and disappointment on this earth. He took flight toward heaven, flying free, without a care, heading straight to his Creator, the one who loves him above all others.
Tony’s beautiful hazel eyes lit up with joy and anticipation as he approached heaven. Tony had never ever felt this type of freedom on earth. The closest thing to which he could compare this feeling of flying high was when he was a little boy flying high on the water hose swing in the mango tree. Yet, the freedom Tony felt on his journey to heaven surpassed that childlike freedom millions of times over. Tony's heart leapt for joy as he entered into the presence of the One who bled and died so that he may have the privilege to live for all eternity with the One True Living God.
Tony, your family and friends, will miss you tremendously. We will always cherish the memory of : your voice, your laughter, and those lovely, piercing eyes, your golden brown skin, your big, gentle, caring heart and that laid back cool swag of yours. We will miss the warm presence that you brought into any room. Notably, your favorite pastime of fishing will always be fondly remembered. For you, fishing was such a thrill, such fun going out in a boat with your buddies catching a load of fish in record time.
As we witnessed your struggles in life, what always reassured us was the love and yearning that you expressed for God. The place you occupied among us is empty today. Your wife, mother, siblings, children, aunt, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends will miss you dearly. Tony, we have the assurance that you are with the redeemed in the presence of the Lord.
Take your rest, Dear Tony.
You will always remain in a special place in our hearts.
